What an amazing Fourth of July weekend in Carson City at the Great Western Steam up. #18 spent two weeks away from home on its Nevada vacation with its journey taking it over Montgomery Pass and through Mina for the first time since 1938. Unfortunately, due to the time of day, and the crew going to Laws to load #401, no one apparently got photos of it in route.
At the museum, the #18 and #401 were the workhorses of the narrow gauge equipment and pulled a good number of the 7500 attendees. A great time was had by all of our volunteers and supporters that attended.
Looking ahead, we hope to conduct a few work parties this fall and look forward to operating #18 a few more times over the coming months. More on that soon!
