We closed February out with more progress on the boxcar. A gang of about 12 took to action with sandblasting the second Thielson truck for 1C, installing more of the exterior hardware, painting the interior green, and work over on #18, included cleaning the tubes.
A recent wave of storms has left the Sierra’s awash with snow. Despite having an elevation of nearly 4000 feet, the valley floor in Independence rarely sees snow however, one of those rare occasions was mid February.
