Were cleaning up and getting ready for our 5th annual BBQ fundraiser. Saturday, October 17th at starting around 4PM at the Independence Legion Hall. Dinner will be served at 5pm. $15 a plate for dinner. Raffle prizes and a new video preview from Ed Fleming will be featured.  During the day we will be working on the locomotive and it will be out for viewing. We hope to see everyone there!

After our August successes we were back at things on the 12-13th of September. A small group of five, along with the plasma cutter, continued with the jacket work. In all things went pretty well, but there is still work to do on it. Most of the big panels are now in place and more or less fitted. Still to come is to build some nice rings to install around the washout plug holes, finish the boiler bands, re-adjust the cab panels and generally clean things up. As of now we are planning on giving the jacketing – finished or not – a first coat of black paint before the October BBQ.

And finally, one more reminder to come out and join us for our 5th annual BBQ fundraiser on October 17th at the Independence Legion Hall. The festivities will start around 5ish, but we will be working during the day and will have the locomotive available for everyone to inspect. See you there!
